SNC Technologies announced the release MineLink Lite. MineLink Lite is a less expensive version of SNC Technologies’ popular MineLink fleet management system for tracking and managing the in-pit hauling fleet. MineLink Lite has many of the same features as the standard MineLink. The main differences are that the Lite version does not have the large 7” or 10” display screen that the standard version does. So there is no in-cab map display. Also, Lite does not have the option of automatic fleet management. In addition, Lite can run on a GSM, LTE, UFH, and VHF network, thereby greatly reducing network costs, which sometimes can exceed the fleet management cost.
President director, Ken Grant, said “MineLink Lite is targeted at the smaller mine that is looking for a lower cost solution and doesn’t need some of the features of the standard system. With MineLink Lite mines can better manage their haul truck fleets to maximize production and minimize queues and hanging excavators waiting for trucks.”
Grant, goes on to say that in spite of the much lower costs, MineLink Lite still delivers complete production reporting, fleet tracking, material tracking, and activity tracking (loading, hauling, dumping, traveling, and waiting).”
“Mine fleet management systems have been around for many years, but many mines still don’t have a system because of the high costs. With MineLink Lite we are delivering a lower cost solution that will help these mines to get more out their fleets”, say Grant.
MineLink Lite rounds out SNC Technologies’ mining fleet management systems, which include not only the standard MineLink, but also MineTrack which is targeted at the long-haul trucks that are hauling material from the pit to the port or load out point.
