Mining Data Monitoring System for Early Engine Fault Detection and Higher Fleet Uptime

Unplanned engine failures cost mines millions each year through lost production, idle trucks, rising maintenance expenses, and safety risks. A mining data monitoring system must do more than collect data—it must protect uptime, reduce costs, and keep equipment running longer. MineMachine delivers exactly that, helping operations detect engine problems early, prevent costly breakdowns, and increase fleet utilisation without disrupting production.

Developed by Komatsu Indonesia and SNCTechnologies, MineMachine was first introduced in 2007 to automate Komatsu VHMS data collection. Today, it has evolved into a proven mining data monitoring system compatible with multi-brand fleets, including Caterpillar, Liebherr, SANY, Belaz, Volvo, and more—trusted at mine sites worldwide.

Real Benefits for Mine Operations

MineMachine is built around outcomes that matter to maintenance managers, reliability engineers, and operations teams:

  • Save maintenance costs by identifying issues before failures occur
  • Detect engine and component problems early
  • Stop small faults from becoming major, expensive repairs
  • Increase production by reducing unplanned downtime
  • Improve truck utilisation and fleet availability
  • Keep technicians out of hazardous areas, improving site safety

These benefits directly translate into lower operating costs, higher productivity, and more predictable maintenance planning.

How MineMachine Works

MineMachine automatically collects engine and machine health data directly from onboard monitoring systems and delivers it wirelessly for analysis—without stopping equipment or requiring manual downloads.

Where full network coverage is unavailable, Hands-Off Technology allows fuel trucks or service vehicles to collect data simply by passing near equipment. The data is securely stored and later uploaded when the vehicle reaches a WiFi, 3G, or 4G access point. This approach offers a smooth and easy transfer and upload of data, even when full coverage is unavailable, while avoiding the cost of building and maintaining a large site-wide network.
