PT Bukit Asam Launches Graha: Revolutionary Mining Data and Monitoring Center to Improve Industrial Efficiency

State-of-the-Art Facility in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, Enhances Operational Excellence and Sustainability of the Mining Sector

Tanjung Enim, March 10, 2025 – PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a leading company in Indonesia’s mining sector, has made history with the inauguration of Graha PT Bukit Asam, an integrated facility known as the “Safety Command Center” which will be the data and mining operations monitoring centre. Located in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, the opening of Graha marks a transformative innovation in the use of digital technology to optimize mining operations, safety, and environmental management.

The grand opening event, which was attended by the Board of Directors of PT. Bukit Asam, GM UPTE Tanjung Enim, Mr. Satria Wirawan, and stakeholders, promised PTBA’s commitment to innovation and longevity in the mining industry. The Graha facility is designed as a “Safety Command Center” for real-time mining data analysis, operational monitoring, and strategic decision making, strengthening PTBA’s position as a pioneer of forward thinking in the mining sector.

Mining Data

New Era of Digital Mining

In his speech, Mr. Suhedi as Director of Operations and Production of PTBA, emphasized the importance of adapting to technological developments in the field of safety. According to him, investment in safety infrastructure such as SCC & Graha not only protects employees, but also ensures the continuity of the company’s operations more efficiently. He also invited all employees to actively utilize this facility to improve their skills and confidence in dealing with emergency situations.

Equipped with the latest technology such as AI-based analytical Dascam Realtime Camera Monitoring, and MineLink Fleet Management system, Graha PT Bukit Asam will centralize data from all mine locations, enabling 24/7 monitoring of production, equipment performance, and environmental conditions as well as employee safety.

“MineLink”, a Fleet Management system specifically developed by PTBA together with PT. Satnetcom Balikpapan, is one of the operational tools at this facility. This system has also been integrated with data from the entire mining supply chain—from exploration, production, logistics (CiSEA)—to maximize productivity, reduce downtime, and improve planning accuracy.

This Graha facility has a SCC (Safety Command Center) with a large-screen dashboard that displays live updates on mining activities, production data monitoring from CiSEA, BATIC (Business Analytics), Coal Handling Facility CHF 4, fleet management monitoring (Minelink), and Fleet Unit dascam real-time monitoring (MDVR). The integration of MineLink and CiSEA allows interactive real-time data visualization, making it easier for teams to make data-based decisions in seconds. This system not only predicts operational disruptions through predictive analytics, but also optimizes resource allocation and improves employee safety. With the construction of facilities such as Graha and SCC, it is hoped that PT. BukitAsam is able to achieve higher production targets with more efficient resources to advance Indonesia’s mining sector.
