MineCAS Collision Avoidance System

MineCAS Mining Collision Avoidance System

MineCAS Radar is a pulsed radar object detection sensor designed to detect moving and stationary objects in blind spots to significantly reduce accidents. MineCAS’s rugged sensor design is specially encased to take on the harsh conditions common with heavy-duty trucks and machines. MineCAS sensors continue to be an effective tool in the most extreme conditions, such as construction sites and working mines where mud, dust, and grime are measured in inches. Additionally, MineCAS can still “see” those hidden objects in even the worst weather, including snow, fog, heavy rains, and ice.

Key Features

  • Front-end and rear-end warning.
  • Left and right-side warning.
  • Reverse assist.
  • In-cab display.
  • Audible alarm and visual feedback.
  • Camera and LED display.
  • Open interface to fleet management systems.
  • Integration with buzzer or other external alarms.
  • Waterproof IP67 (Radar); IP65 (Control box).
  • Coverage area can be up to 32 feet / 10 meters depending on the sensor chosen and your specific needs.

Compatible & Expandable

The backbone of a complete blind spot safety approach, MineCAS provides an active component that will work with or automatically activate reversing alarms, safety lights, camera systems, digital recorders, and more.

Sensors Vary by Vehicle Type / Industry

A driver operating an on-road utility truck does not face the same obstacles and blind spot as a haul truck operator in a surface mine. That is why we’ve designed different sensors to meet the varied needs of each vehicle and industry.

Reliable and Proven

MineCAS customers are reporting reductions of more than 75% in blind spot accidents since installing MineCAS on their heavy-duty fleets.

mining collision avoidance system

Human – Vehicle Collision Avoidance

The system consists of a vehicle positioning tag, a sound and light alarm, along with a personnel tag. The system continuously monitors the distance between vehicles and personnel. If the distance falls below a preset safety threshold in the warning area, the system triggers an alert through a flashing signal, warning both the vehicle operator and nearby personnel of the proximity risk.

System Components:

  • Vehicle positioning tag.
  • Sound and light alarm.
  • Personnel tag.

Functionality:

  • The system continuously monitors the distance between vehicles and personnel.

Safety Mechanism:

  • If the distance falls below a preset safety threshold in the warning area:
    • The system triggers an alert through a flashing signal.
    • Warns both the vehicle operator and nearby personnel of the proximity risk.

Dare to Compare

It’s not even close. There is no other system on the market today that works as well as MineCAS in the heavy-duty industry.

Xtreme MineCAS

Xtreme MineCAS is a pulsed radar object detection solution designed to detect moving and stationary objects in blind spots to significantly reduce accidents.

MineCAS Plus

MineCAS Plus is an all-in-one integrated blind spot safety system.

Worksight for Waste

MineCAS WorkSight for Waste is a single sensor solution that provides the close-in range that detects objects from corner-to-corner of the bumper, while also detecting 20ft/6m out from the sensor.

Worksight MineCAS

Introducing WorkSight MineCAS, the newest object detection safety system developed by Preco Electronics, Inc.™

MineCAS Side Object Detection

MineCAS Side Object Detection (SOD) improves your driver’s situational awareness by constantly monitoring the dangerous left and right areas out of your driver’s view.

High Resolution MineCAS

High Resolution MineCAS is a pulsed radar object detection sensor designed to detect moving and stationary objects in blind spots to significantly reduce accidents.

Aerial Truck

One WorkZone MineCAS sensor is mounted on the rear-centre of the aerial truck. This will detect objects approximately the width of the vehicle and extend 10 feet/3 metres from the sensor.

Haul Truck

An Xtreme MineCAS sensor is mounted on the front, rear, right side and left side. This covers the most dangerous blind spots.

Articulated Haul Truck

The in-cab display provides the driver with an audible and visual alert when an object is in the detection zone. As the object moves closer to the sensor, the audible alert increases and more LEDs light up on the display.

Dump Truck

An Xtreme MineCAS sensor is mounted on the front, rear, right side and left side. This covers the most dangerous blind spots.

Excavator

The display unit provides an audible and visual warning to the operator when an object or pedestrian is in the blind spot. This gives the driver extra time to react to prevent an accident.

Service Truck

One WorkZone MineCAS sensor is mounted on the rear-centre of the service truck. This will detect objects approximately the width of the vehicle and extend 10 feet from the bumper of the service truck.

Uppercut Mine Shovel

Six Xtreme MineCAS sensors are mounted on the shovel. Two in the rear, two on the left, and two on the right. MineCAS Plus cameras are mounted on right, left, front, and rear of vehicle. This covers the most dangerous blind spots.

Wheel Loader

One WorkSight MineCAS sensor and one SAS Alarm are mounted on the rear of the wheel loader. When an object is detected by the sensor, the alarm increases in audible tone to warn pedestrians outside of the vehicle of impending danger.
