A Brief Biography of Suhardi (Amo): From Newspaper Boy to PT Satnetcom Employee
Suhardi, better known as Amo, was born in Balikpapan on March 13, 2002. He grew up in a modest family in Sungai Nangka, South Balikpapan, on Letjen (TNI) Z. Amaulani Street, RT 039. His childhood was marked by many limitations, especially when it came to education.
A Life-Changing Encounter
Amo’s life took a turn when, at just 8 years old, he worked as a newspaper boy at the traffic light intersection of Beruang Madu (Balikpapan Permai). There, he unexpectedly met Mr. Ken (President Director of PT SatNetCom), a figure who would later play a pivotal role in shaping his future. He was offered a priceless chance: full education support, with the possibility of continuing through college, plus monthly food assistance.
For Amo, this was truly a blessing from God. His decision to work as a newspaper boy was never out of laziness or a desire to skip school—it was because his parents simply could not afford to pay for his education at that time.
Educational Journey
Thanks to PT Satnetcom’s CSR program, Amo was able to pursue proper education. He studied at:
- SD Negeri 11 South Balikpapan (Elementary School)
- SMP Negeri 10 Balikpapan (Junior High School)
- SMK Kartika V-1 Balikpapan (Vocational High School), majoring in Computer & Network Engineering (TKJ)
From his time in vocational school, Amo showed a strong passion for computer networking and IT infrastructure.
From Internship to Full-Time Employee at PT Satnetcom
Amo’s career with PT Satnetcom began through an internship/probation program from June to August 2024. Through perseverance and eagerness to learn, he was officially hired as a full-time employee in September 2024, joining the Technical Services Department.
Interests and Talents
Amo is known as a hardworking, determined, and curious individual. His strong interest in computer networking has become a valuable foundation in his career path. From a young boy selling newspapers on the streets to help his family, Amo is now a living example of the success of PT Satnetcom’s CSR program, which not only provides scholarships but also nurtures young people into professionals ready to build their future.
VISIT TO “BHAKTI ABADI” NURSING HOME – AUGUST 9, 2024
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, PT SatNetCom visited the Bhakti Abadi Nursing Home in Balikpapan on August 9, 2024.
Led by HRGA Manager, Mrs. Ratna Madyati, along with representatives from HR and other departments, the team extended support and assistance to the residents. This visit reflected the company’s commitment to social responsibility, aiming to improve the well-being of the elderly while strengthening relationships with the local community.
Through this activity, PT SatNetCom hopes to create a lasting positive impact for the people around them.
CSR VISIT TO RAHMATULLAH MOSQUE
PT SatNetCom once again showed its care for the community through a CSR program at Rahmatullah Mosque, located at Jl. Abdi Praja VI No.19, Sepinggan, South Balikpapan. The initiative aimed to support the mosque’s operations and facility improvements, making it more comfortable for worshippers. Beyond that, PT SatNetCom also hoped this contribution would help build stronger bonds with the surrounding community while continuing to bring long-term positive impacts in both social and religious aspects.
BLOOD DONATION DRIVE – OCTOBER 18, 2024
As part of PT SatNetCom’s 20th anniversary celebration, a blood donation drive was successfully held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Jupiter Meeting Room.
The event was open to employees, their families, and the surrounding community, reflecting the company’s commitment to care and share with others.
Supported by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the program ran smoothly with high enthusiasm from all participants.
VISIT TO ASSAKINAH ORPHANAGE – DECEMBER 4, 2024
On December 4, 2024, PT SatNetCom carried out another CSR initiative at Assakinah Orphanage, located in Sepinggan Baru, Balikpapan. Representatives from HR and the company’s Islamic Spiritual Unit (Rohis) attended the visit, showing care and support for the children at the orphanage. The purpose of the activity was to strengthen ties between the company and the local community, while also bringing positive benefits to the orphans through meaningful social engagement.
CSR VISIT TO AL-IKHLAS ORPHANAGE – JANUARY 3, 2025
On Friday, January 3, 2025, PT SatNetCom continued its CSR mission with a visit to AlIkhlas Orphanage in Arema 2 street, Damai, Balikpapan Kota. Company representatives handed over support for the children at the orphanage. The goal was to ease their burdens, provide encouragement, and nurture closer bonds with the surrounding community. This initiative reflects PT SatNetCom’s ongoing commitment to social welfare and its hope to inspire others to join in spreading kindness and care.
IFTAR GATHERING WITH ASSALAM ORPHANAGE – MARCH 14, 2025
A warm and heartfelt atmosphere filled PT SatNetCom’s office on March 14, 2025, during the Iftar (breaking the fast) event with children from the Assalam Orphanage, Balikpapan Permai. The program, which started at 4:30 PM WITA, was attended by employees and children alike.
The agenda included an opening speech from PT SatNetCom’s CTOO, Mr. Marky, Quran recitation by the orphans, a sermon by Ustadz Arrasheed, prayers, and finally breaking the fast and enjoying dinner together in a spirit of togetherness.
This event was not just about sharing food—it was about sharing happiness, strengthening brotherhood, and spreading compassion during the holy month of Ramadan. PT SatNetCom hopes this gathering inspires a culture of care, solidarity, and kindness for everyone involved.
EID AL-ADHA – JUNE 11, 2024
On June 11, 2024, which coincided with 1445 Hijriah, PT SatNetCom joyfully celebrated Eid al-Adha.
As a form of social care, the company donated one cow to be distributed to those in need.
